In order to further stimulate students' interest in learning mathematics, improve their calculation ability, develop their logical thinking ability, and cultivate their thinking flexibility, agility and the good habit of careful examination, the mathematics group of the Junior High Department of Anqing Foreign Language School's east campus conducted the rapid calculation series training for the seventh grade students.
It is clearly stated in the mathematics curriculum standard that students should be able to ‘correctly, quickly, flexibly and reasonably’ carry out calculations. Good oral calculation ability can improve the agility, logic and accuracy of students' thinking. Therefore, the holding of this activity has a good effect on strengthening the cultivation of students' calculation ability.
Furthermore, the implementation of this activity not only examined the students' speed calculation level, ignited the passion of students to learn mathematics, but also boosted the accuracy and speed of students' rapid calculation, and enhanced the sense of competition among students, which set off a wave of learning speed calculation on campus.
In a word, through this activity, students raised their speed and accuracy of oral calculation, but there were students in each class with poor test scores. Therefore, teachers helped the students to find out the causes of mistakes and strengthened training to lay a solid foundation for math learning. In the meantime, teachers will improve the intensity and method of speed calculation practice, and strive to advance students' oral calculation level to a new level.
